Our Conductor

Clark McAlister is Vice President and Editor in Chief of Edwin F. Kalmus & Co., Inc. and Masters Music Publishers, as well as Artistic Director of Klavier records. He is also Music director and conductior of the Deerfield Beach Symphony Orchestra, the Sunrise Symphonic Pops Orchestra and the Lyric String Orchestra. Dr. McAlister has been Music Administrator and assistant conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Florida (later known as the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra), Music Director and conductor at Palm Beach Community College and instructor at the Canford Summer School of Music in Canford, UK. He has been composer-in-residentce at the University of Montana and currently holds that position with the Chamber Music Palm Beach. He is an active composer and arranger and his compositions and arrangements are played by orchestras and ensembles worldwide. They have been recorded by Telarc, Klavier, Deutsche Grammophon, Sony and Albany. The recipient of a fellowship in composition from the Florida Arts Council, Dr. McAlister received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Miami.

An Evening with the Lyric

The Lyric Chamber Orchestra performs music of the masters of the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods. Soloists often enhance the evening's performance Dr. McAlister maintains communications with the audience creating an intimate and enjoyable atmosphere and a very exciting evening.

Our musicians have been members of the Montreal Symphony, Toronto Symphony, New York Philharmonic, New York City Ballet, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Vermont Symphony, Princeton Chamber Players, Florida Philharmonic and the Queens Symphony Orchestra.
